Results and recaps from the second week of the OSAA football playoffs, Nov. 15-16:

Mountainside 34, Tigard 31 (OT): Brian Mannion threw a 25-yard touchdown pass in overtime to Carlos Montero as Mountainside, in its second varsity season, stunned previously unbeaten Tigard to become the first No. 16 seed to defeat a top seed since the OSAA went to the current format for 6A schools. Tigard had taken a 31-28 lead in overtime on a 43-yard field goal by Jackson Cleaver. The Mavericks scored 21 consecutive points to lead 28-21, but Tigard tied it 28-28 on touchdown run by Hunter Gilbert (24 carries, 161 yards). Mannion completed 18 of 35 passes for 228 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.
Barlow 26, Sheldon 24: Jaren Hunter threw two touchdown passes, both to Durham Sundberg, and ran for a score as Barlow advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2005. The Bruins led 26-17 before allowing a touchdown with nine seconds left.
West Linn 35, Sherwood 14: Gavin Haines rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries and Casey Tawa caught his 17th touchdown pass of the season as the Lions beat the Bowmen for the second time this year. Lucas Voss ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns for Sherwood, which trailed 28-0.
Central Catholic 28, Newberg 12: Cade Knighton had a big first half for the Rams, completing all 11 of his passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns, and finished 16 of 19 for 329 yards. Elijah Elliott rushed for 118 yards, Silas Starr had seven catches for 113 yards and Miles Jackson had two interceptions for Central Catholic, which held Newberg to 171 yards.
Lake Oswego 42, West Salem 31: Turnover-plagued Lake Oswego trailed 28-14 early in the third quarter before rallying for the win. Casey Filkins ran for 232 yards and five touchdowns on 24 carries, but his 31-yard TD pass to Joe Hutson in the fourth quarter put the Lakers on top for good. Nathan Garcia scored twice in the loss for West Salem.
Lakeridge 51, Aloha 40: Jalen John rushed for 297 yards and four touchdowns and Cooper Justice completed 11 of 16 passes for 131 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 70 yards and two scores as the No. 22 seed Pacers eliminated the No. 6 seed Warriors. Timmy Dennis Jr. passed for 272 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 82 yards on 17 carries for Aloha, which also got seven catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns from Regan Wilson.
Tualatin 50, North Medford 35: Kainoa Sayre rushed for 162 yards and four touchdowns for Tualatin, which opened a 50-14 lead and coasted to the win. John Miller blocked a punt, tackled a runner for a safety and caught a touchdown pass for the Timberwolves.
Jesuit 70, Liberty 24: Kade Wisher rushed for 285 yards and five touchdowns for the Crusaders, who led 35-6 at halftime. Joey Gatto’s 97-yard kickoff return jump-started at 28-point third quarter for Jesuit. Hiro Diamond threw two touchdown passes in the loss for Liberty, which finished with 301 yards of total offense.

Thurston 48, Wilsonville 9: Undefeated Thurston spotted Wilsonville a 3-0 lead after one quarter, then used four Wes Kommer scoring runs in the second to grab a 27-3 halftime lead. Kommer finished with 249 yards on the ground and added a fifth TD run, from 53 yards out, in the third quarter. Calvin Royce also went over 100 yards rushing for Thurston, which beat Wilsonville 30-27 in the 5A final last year.
Silverton 48, Scappoose 14: Hayden Roth ran for three touchdowns and quarterback Jordan McCarty rushed for two scores for the Foxes, who also got a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown from Cole Runion.
West Albany 41, Ashland 15: Porter Phillips rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs. West Albany opened the game by scoring two touchdowns off turnovers, taking a 14-0 lead on an interception return by Luke Killinger. Ashland's Rieger Sayre completed 15 of 31 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.
Crater 49, Parkrose 0: The Comets extended their shutout streak to 17 quarters in blanking the Broncos, who were coming off their first playoff win in school history. Crater scored touchdowns on its first six possessions to lead 42-0 at half. Trever Davis passed for three touchdowns and ran for a score. Gavin Acrey ran for a touchdown and returned an interception for a score.

Banks 34, Baker 14: Tanner Shook completed 16 of 23 passes for 254 yards and four touchdowns, three to Jacob Slifka (six catches, 140 yards), as the reigning state champion Braves remained unbeaten. Slifka kicked three field goals.
Marist Catholic 28, North Marion 21: Marist Catholic’s Lucas Tuski rushed for 110 yards on 21 carries, including a one-yard touchdown with eight seconds left for the winning points. North Marion trailed 14-0 but took a 15-14 lead when Matthew Wheatcroft returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown. Hagan Stephenson had a punt return touchdown for the Spartans.
La Grande 14, Gladstone 0: Nathan Reed ran for 186 yards and two touchdowns and La Grande’s defense held Gladstone to 158 yards of total offense. The Tigers got payback for last year, when they lost to the Gladiators 30-27 in the quarterfinals.
The Dalles 58, Tillamook 51: Okean Green ran for three touchdowns and caught a scoring pass, Zac Anderson had two touchdown catches and Jaxon Pullen returned a kickoff for a score for The Dalles, which advanced to the semifinals for the first time since 1993. Tillamook’s Chad Werner completed 15 of 33 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 152 yards and four scores on 23 carries. Neither team punted.

Hidden Valley 51, Cascade Christian 30: The Mustangs advanced to the semifinals for the first time since 1978 behind Tobias Powers, who rushed for 235 yards on 30 carries. Hidden Valley’s Sam Vidlak completed 14 of 17 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns, both to Jeremiah Noga.
Rainier 50, Amity 22: Kenney Tripp threw two touchdown passes, ran for a score and returned a fumble 60 yards for a touchdown as the reigning state champion Columbians avenged a 24-20 regular-season defeat to the Warriors. Stone Ware rushed for 113 yards on 13 carries for Rainier but left in the fourth quarter with a broken wrist. David Katon ran for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass for the Columbians.
Burns 14, Clatskanie 13: The Hilanders survived a late threat to get the win. Clatskanie tried a go-ahead field goal from about 35 yards inside the final minute, but Burns' Mick Winn blocked it behind the line of scrimmage, and a Tigers lineman picked up the ball and ran it to the 4-yard line for a first down. The Burns defense held on downs to end the game. The Hilanders took a 7-0 lead in the opening minute, converting a fumble on the opening kickoff into a nine-yard touchdown run by Winn. Clatskanie's James Helmen threw touchdown passes to Cedrix Moses and Andre Combs to put the Tigers up 13-7 after the first quarter. Burns took the lead with 4:13 left in the game when Jaden Tiller threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Harlen Gunderson and William Johnson kicked the extra point. Clatskanie finished with advantages in plays (72-37) and total yards (337-135). Helmen completed 14 of 33 passes for 246 yards and two scores. Combs had six catches for 174 yards and Moses rushed for 99 yards on 25 carries.
Santiam Christian 58, Vale 6: Marcus Fullbright returned the opening kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown and rushed for 102 yards and three scores on 19 carries to lead the Eagles, who led 36-0 at half. Ely Kennel completed 9 of 16 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score for Santiam Christian, which forced four turnovers.

Kennedy 45, Oakland 7: Bruce Beyer rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns, returned a fumble 55 yards for a score, had an interception, recovered his own onside kick, kicked four PATs and threw a two-point pass for the reigning champion Trojans. Kennedy’s Dylan Kleinschmit threw three touchdown passes, two to Isaiah Basargin. Oakland standout Corbin Picknell was held to 49 yards on 16 carries.
Monroe 56, Toledo 26: Zach Young rushed for 232 yards and four touchdowns – including an 80-yard score on the first play from scrimmage -- to propel the Dragons past the Boomers, avenging a regular-season defeat.
Heppner 32, Warrenton 7: Warrenton took a 7-6 lead midway through the third quarter on a 16-yard touchdown run by Jacob Morrow, but Jackson Lehman returned the ensuing kickoff 64 yards for a touchdown and the unbeaten Mustangs scored the game’s final 26 points. Heppner had five interceptions – two by Kason Cimmiyotti – and a fumble recovery. Mason Lehman and Blake Wolters rushed for 120 and 93 yards, respectively, for the Mustangs. Morrow rushed for 142 yards for Warrenton.
Knappa 36, Coquille 30: The Loggers won on the road behind quarterback Eli Takalo, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 163 yards and two scores. Ean Smith rushed for 203 yards for Coquille.

St. Paul 56, Days Creek 6: T.J. Crawford completed 6 of 9 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two scores to lead the top-seeded Buckaroos to the rout of the Wolves, who managed only 129 total yards.
Camas Valley 48, Powder Valley 36: Jared Hunt rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries and had 17 tackles at inside linebacker to lead the Hornets, who rushed for 396 yards. Powder Valley rallied from a 28-6 deficit to tie 28-28 behind quarterback Reece Dixon, who threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score, but Camas Valley responded with three consecutive touchdowns to pull away. River Wolfe ran for 158 yards and two scores for the Hornets.
Crane 42, Dufur 6: The host Mustangs eliminated the four-time reigning state champion Rangers. Crane outscored Dufur 28-0 in the second half, taking advantage of five turnovers. The Mustangs held the Rangers to 100 total yards. Chase Joyce ran for two scores and caught two of Rixon Doman's three touchdown passes for Crane.
Adrian/Jordan Valley 64, Hosanna Christian 16: Wade Bond had six catches for 202 yards and five touchdowns and had two interceptions, returning one for a score, for the unbeaten Antelopes. Conley Martin completed 10 of 19 passes for 292 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 99 yards and two scores on 10 carries. Adrian’s Mike Babcock rushed for two touchdowns.
