Lake Oswego junior Drew Woolworth moved into position to repeat as champion in the first round of the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 6A boys golf tournament Monday at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn.

Woolworth shot a 5-under 67 to open a four-stroke lead over Tigard senior Jennings Oelke. Woolworth, who won last year's tournament by eight strokes, recorded seven birdies during his round.

Jesuit senior Jack Harrington and Grants Pass senior Trey Alderson are tied for third at 73. Six golfers are tied for fourth at 74.

Reigning champion Jesuit, going for a record 11th title, is deadlocked with Lake Oswego in first place at 307. The Crusaders defeated the Lakers by five strokes to win last year's championship.

Tigard (311), Westview (314) and Lakeridge (314) are close behind.

Jesuit's lineup includes Harrington, Joseph Ulrich (75), Will Burke (76) and Cameron Fagan (83). Lake Oswego's scorers are Woolworth, Nathan Pai (77), Jimmy Keyser (81) and Nate Cheriel (82).

Summit has taken the inside track in the 5A tournament as it pursues its fourth consecutive state title.

The Storm shot 308 on Monday at OGA to lead La Salle Prep (312), Corvallis (317) and Wilsonville (325).

Summit sophomore Bryden Ditty tops the leaderboard at 1-over 73. Canby freshman Connor Holden, Corvallis senior Ben Boysen and Wilsonville junior Luke Sidhu are tied for second at 74. Summit junior Bryce Grieb is in fifth at 76.

Ditty and Grieb pace a Storm lineup that also includes Rooks Maxwell (77) and Paola Delia (82). La Salle Prep, which won the last of its four titles in 2013, is in contention behind reigning state champion Jonas Caddell (77), Matthew Martin (77), Will Demonte (77) and Leo Hartley (81).

Wilsonville senior Michael Flaherty, co-champion in 2023 who tied for fifth last year, is five strokes behind at 78.

Marist Catholic, last year's champion, holds a three-stroke lead after one round of the 4A tournament Monday at Tokatee Golf Course in McKenzie.

The Spartans shot 322 to lead Seaside (325), Baker/Powder Valley (325) and North Bend (329).

Molalla senior Massimo Cereghino shot a 1-under 71 to lead by three strokes over North Bend senior Owen Bascom (74). Cereghino has finished sixth, fourth and second in the state tournament the last three years.

Baker/Powder Valley junior Elias Long and Marist Catholic senior Christian Guerrero are tied for third at 75 and Seaside junior Xanh Quang and Stayton senior Isaac Laro are tied for fifth at 77.

Marist Catholic's scoring comes from Guerrero, Tripp Murphy (80), Nick Hudson (83), Jaxen Mazur (84) and Dominic Angelastro (84). Seaside's scorers are Quang, Alex Arden (80), Logan Norman (81) and Madden Wunderlich (87).

3A/2A/1A

Crosspoint Christian junior Davis Hartwell carded two eagles in shooting a 6-under 65 to take a five-stroke lead in the 3A/2A/1A tournament at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis.

Hartwell, who has committed to Oregon State, shot a 31 on the front nine and 34 on the back nine. He had eagles on the par-5 No. 5 and par-4 No. 11.

Bandon senior Peyton Simonds and Valley Catholic junior Benny Zhu, the 2023 champion, are tied for second at 70. Oregon Episcopal freshman Mateo Gramstad and Bandon sophomore Sevren Quinn are tied for fourth at 71.

Bandon, which won by 22 strokes last year, has an 18-stroke lead after firing a 9-over 293 behind Simonds, Quinn, Braedon Millhouser (73) and Jackson Simonds (79). Valley Catholic (311), Oregon Episcopal (316) and Blanchet Catholic (318) are next.
