A look at Monday's 6A and 2A/1A first-round softball games in the OSAA / OnPoint Community Credit Union State Championships:


6A


Grants Pass 20, Aloha 2 – Leina Belog hit a two-run blast in the top of the first for Aloha, but it was all Grants Pass after that, as GP scored 20 unanswered in the home win. Toni Stevens was 3-for-3 hitting and Skylar Padgett pitched five innings for the win.


Mountainside 6, Central Catholic 2 – Katie Schmidt went the distance on the mound, striking out nine, in Mountainside’s win. Addison Kachnik paced the offense with two doubles and three RBIs. Logan Kelly and Kimberly Pulido both homered in the loss for Central Catholic.


Tigard 9, South Salem 1 – The Tigers scored eight runs in the third inning, including a home run and two-run double from Lexi Klum, and cruised to the win at home.


McMinnville 2, Lake Owego 1 -- Payton Hudson homered in the bottom of the ninth to send host McMinnville to the second round. Hudson went the distance on the mound for the Grizzlies, fanning 10. McMinnville trailed 1-0 heading to the bottom of the seventh before knotting the game on a sacrifice fly.


Jesuit 6, Canby 5 – Madi Mayhew had a walk-off home run as the Crusaders won in eight innings. Kacy Lyman also starred at the plate, going 3-for-3. Parker Allhands hit a three-run homer to tie the game in the top of the seventh for Canby.


Clackamas 10, Roosevelt 0 -- Shaylee Monise tossed a complete game one-hitter and was one of two Cavaliers to homer in the game. Maddy Stateler also homered in the five-inning contest.


Franklin 5, Reynolds 0 -- Edith Pederson struck out 14 and gave up only one hit in the win for the Quakers, who scored three in the first, sparked by a steal of home from Maggie Brauckmiller; to set the tone. Pederson also drove in three on the day and Christina Barrett was 2-for-3 with an RBI.


Tualatin 5, Madison 0 -- Tia Ridings tossed a complete game shutout, striking out 12 while yielding only three hits, for the Timberwolves, who got two hits from Leanna Rosenbaum to lead the offense.


Sheldon 13, Oregon City 2 – Sheldon scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a leadoff homer from Emma Neuman, and the Irish cruised to the win at home. Camille Leach went five on the mound for the win. She struck out nine. Oregon City’s runs came courtesy of a two-run first-inning homer off the bat of senior Jordyn Duntley.


McNary 5, North Medford 4 – McNary scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win coming from behind. Alexa Cepeda drove in three for the victorious Celtics. Kyleigh Lopez had four hits in the loss for North Medford.


Westview 3, West Salem 1 – Sophomore Julia Jordan struck out eight and yielded just one hit in the Westview win. An RBI single by freshman Zoe Zimmer plated the go-ahead run in the fourth.


Glencoe 10, Centennial 2 – Morgan DeBord and Athena Van Dyke went deep, Jensen Becker drove in four and Dana Butterfield yielded just two hits while striking out eight in the dominating win for the Crimson Tide.


Roseburg 7, Lakeridge 1 -- Roseburg scored six times in the bottom of the second inning to put the game away early. Samie Bergmann went 3-for-3 with two runs batted in for the home team, which got a route-going performance on the mound from Madysen Blevins, who fanned 10.


Barlow 3, Bend 0 --- Lexie Geary limited Bend to three hits and had two of her own in Barlow's win.


Newberg 4, Wilson 3 – Run-scoring doubles in the fourth inning from Katie Evans and Hayley Poff sparked a three-run uprising for the Tigers, who held on for the home win. Olivia McKinnon went 2-for-2 in the loss for Wilson.


Sunset 4, South Medford 1 – Grace Kimball struck out 11 and yielded just one unearned run in the win for Sunset. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth, when Abby Wingo singled, stole second and came around to score on an infield error.


2A/1A


Lost River 8, Colton 5 -- Yulisa Alonzo homered and singled and Makenzie Girtman was flawless in relief for Lost River. Lauren Reed hit a two-run blast in the loss for Colton.


Waldport 8, Gervais 1 -- Waldport got 11 strike outs from starting pitcher Kyra Pickner and cobbled together seven hits in the win. OF Mariah Davis had a bases-clearing single and made two diving catches to help the cause.


Lakeview 5, Knappa 3 – Junior right hander Alyson Yates struck out 14 and yielded just three hits in Lakeview’s road win. Carmelina Arredondo was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for the victorious Honkers. Katie Patterson stroked a two-run double in the loss for Knappa.


Monroe 8, Echo / Stanfield 5 -- Tyler Warden struck out 10 and Ella Mezza drove in three in the win for Monroe, which survived a five-run sixth inning by Echo / Stanfield.


Santiam 15, Bandon 5 – Brittany Grenbemer went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and four runs batted in to pace Santiam, which won in five innings. Dedra Foster had two hits, including a homer, for Bandon.


Glide 9, St. Paul 0 -- Jordan Williams threw a complete game one-hitter, striking out a career-high 18; and added a three-run homer in an eight-run sixth inning for the victors.
