Mountainside can’t hold that Tiger

A goal line stand and 98-yard strike from Brian Mannion to Andrew Simpson got the Mavericks back in the game. Another Mannion TD toss drew Mountainside within one score, and the Mavericks had a chance for a miracle win late, before Owen Hawley’s interception sealed Newberg’s win.

Luke McNabb threw three touchdowns passes and ran for one more and Deacon Smith had a receiving touchdown and a pick six in Scappoose’s 48-0 win over county rival St. Helens.
