2A/1A Boys Cross Country Championship Qualifications

2A/1A Boys Cross Country

  1. Team Automatic Qualifiers - Eight teams automatically qualify for the OSAA Cross Country State Championships. These teams are based on league / special district meets on or before Saturday, October 28. Each league / special district determines how they select their two allotted championship spots.

    Special District 1 - Knappa, Southwest Christian
    Special District 2 - Monroe, Western Christian
    Special District 3 - Union, Heppner
    Special District 4 - Reedsport, Bandon

  2. At-Large Qualifiers - Two additional teams will qualify for the OSAA Cross Country State Championships. These teams will be determined by the selection committee after the district meets have concluded. Seeding Criteria

    At-Large #1 - Imbler
    At-Large #2 - Stanfield/Echo

  3. Individual Automatic Qualifiers - Any individual in the top seven across the line, not a member of a qualifying team, will qualify as an individual for the state championships. If all of the top seven individuals are members of qualifying teams, no additional individuals will be added.

    Special District 1 - Jonah Higdon (Nestucca)
    Special District 2 - Johnathan Kintz (Kennedy), Viggo Beck (Triangle Lake), Jackson Duringer (Central Linn), Ernest Oldham (Chemawa), and Stuart McLaughlin (Regis)
    Special District 3 - Gideon Tubbs (Pine Eagle)
    Special District 4 - Curtiss Heier (Illinois Valley), Levi Cullett (Glendale), Wyatt Humphrey (North Douglas), Jay Brust (Cascades Academy, and Eli Nicholson (Myrtle Point)


  4. Ties - for final team or individual qualification spots shall be broken by the league/special district prior to submitting the official state championship entry to the OSAA.
