2009 Speech State Championship Results
More than 500 high school students representing 64 schools participated at the OSAA / U.S. Bank / Les Schwab Tires 2009 Speech State Championships held Thursday, April 23, through Saturday, April 25, at Western Oregon University in Monmouth. The results of the competition were:
6A Sweepstakes: 1. Wilson High School (Portland) - 70 points; 2. Tigard High School – 65 points; 3. Sam Barlow High School (Gresham) – 53 points; 4. TIE Lakeridge High School (Lake Oswego) – 25 points; 4. TIE Lincoln High School (Portland) – 25 points.
5A Sweepstakes: 1. Silverton High School – 64 points; 2. Glencoe High School (Hillsboro) – 57 points; 3. Ashland High School – 50 points; 4. TIE Liberty High School - 20 points; 4. TIE Mountain View High School (Bend) – 20 points.
4A/3A/2A/1A Sweepstakes: 1. Bandon High School – 69 points; 2. TIE Nestucca High School (Cloverdale) – 22 points; 2. TIE Tillamook High School – 22 points; 4. Ione High School – 12 points; 5. North Valley High School (Grants Pass) – 10 points.
