2008 State Championship Results

More than 475 high school students representing 67 schools participated at the OSAA / U.S. Bank / Les Schwab Tires 2008 Speech State Championships held Thursday, April 17, through Saturday, April 19, at Western Oregon University in Monmouth.

The results of the competition were:

6A Sweepstakes : 1. Sam Barlow High School (Gresham) - 86 points; 2. Wilson High School (Portland) – 61 points; 3. Tigard High School – 60 points; 4. Westview High School (Portland) – 55 points; 5. Sprague High School (Salem) – 43 points.

5A Sweepstakes : 1. Silverton High School – 50 points; 2. Ashland High School – 46 points; 3. Mountain View High School (Bend) – 34 points; 4. Glencoe High School (Hillsboro) – 26 points; 5. Willamette High School (Eugene) - 25 points.

4A/3A/2A/1A Sweepstakes : 1. Nestucca High School (Cloverdale) – 20 points; 2. Bandon High School – 12 points; 3. TIE Brookings-Harbor High School – 10 points; 3. TIE Neah-Kah-Nie High School (Rockaway Beach) – 10 points; 5. TIE Blanchet Christian School (Salem) – 8 points; 5 TIE Marist High School (Eugene) – 8 points; 5. TIE Tillamook High School – 8 points.
