Wilson High School in Portland, OR is selling a used Gilman Football Combo Blocking Sled. It is a five man sled and dual sided. The sled comes with bags for both a tall side and short side. We are asking $2000 obo. The following is the sled description from Gilman. "The COMBO is a power sled. Built to train big, powerful men. Pads on both sides: high on one side, low on the other. Because it's stationary, the force of a blow is deflected in the movement of the pad instead of the movement of the sled. The force generated by the recoil of the pad is similar to the sustained thrust of a blocker's charge. Every muscle in your body must work to fight the pressure. Flexing the pad back and forth is similar to a bench press and will build upper body strength. Working against this sled helps develop more hitting force, better balance and footwork. On the tall side, work on basic blow delivery. On the short side, practice goal line charge and low block protection." These duties include, but are not limited to effectively leading/hiring assistant coaches for the junior varsity teams. The head coach must be knowledgeable in all aspects of their sport and must possess the ability to effectively organize team events, plan practices, team schemes and team build, able to demonstrate success in teaching, coaching and relating to high school students is a must as is a proven ability in hiring, evaluating and managing a staff of coaches. Applicants shall be community minded and able to relate to the various publics (recreation center programs, parents, students, and other Pacific High School coaches) as well as the community at large.
